JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for growing, managing, and sustaining Empire's business at his/her assigned mine sites. Responsible for knowing and understanding the client's business, and implementing plans to help the client achieve its goals through appropriate utilization of all Empire resources. The position works closely with the assigned client support manager and service manager to maximize total client share of wallet. This position is also responsible for meeting Empire's market share goals for Percentage of Industry Sales (PINS), Percentage of Parts Sales (POPS) and Service Dealer Customer Acceptance Level (SDCAL), profit, and business development as they relate to the assigned mine sites.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Commercial:
  • Develop and manage the assigned mining accounts by understanding the client's goals and aligning Empire's products and services to meet them.
  • Forecast and project the business opportunities on an annual basis.
  • Develop comprehensive budgets for the mine sites in conjunction with the Client Support Manager, Commercial Manager, and Director.
  • Develop Mining Business Plans for all assigned accounts.
  • Assist in determining needs for capital, human, and technology resources to meet business plan.
  • Meet Empire market share goals for PINS, POPS and SDCAL, and business development.
  • Assist in the development of the appropriate business contracts with Empire's Operations. Legal, and Executive Leadership.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects.
  • Ensure that the site is in good credit standing with Empire. No relationship or any other business issues should reach Empire's Leadership unexpectedly.
  • Create an environment of ownership and personal accountability where each person is responsible and accountable for their performance.
  • Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.

Products and Services:
  • Present all Empire offerings that support the goals of the mine site.
  • Know and understand all Empire operations and functions that support the mine site.
  • Work with Mining Applications Engineer to understand and improve the performance level of Empire's mining products and services.

Operations:
  • Develop and manage detailed business plan that connects with Empire Mining and Empire Corporate strategic plans.
  • Work closely with project manager, Client Support Manager to provide unified presence to mining account and meet the business plan.
  • Understand client's economic and business data including projections, and help develop operational methods to support them.
  • Develop trust-based relationships with all local and appropriate corporate operations employees.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for quarterly communications to Empire executives and managers (financial health, non-financial goals, changes in resource requirements).
  • Develop plan to meet with key influencers regularly. Include measurement.
  • Ensure all client issues are communicated to the appropriate Empire area and that all issues are resolved.
  • Utilize available technology to effectively communicate internally and with the client.
  • Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Works within and promote Corporate values.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Extensive knowledge of mine operations' systems.
  • Must have excellent knowledge of mining machine applications.
  • Proven leadership and management skills and ability.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Skilled at making clear and persuasive presentations. Able to build credibility quickly with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work in and manage ambiguity, deal with issues or problems, work independently, drive for results and stay focused to accomplish objectives with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to think strategically and systemically.
  • Ability to be flexible, creative and grasp complex concepts and execute ideas. Motivated by challenges.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills with individuals or in groups.
  • Knowledge and skills to operate and understand sales force automation and customer contact management tools.
  • Knowledge and skills to operate web based information platforms.
  • Appropriate manner, conduct, and grooming adhere to company policy.
  • Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to work cooperatively with people and consummate sales transactions.
  • Must have proven sales skills, be familiar with equipment financing and taxes, and know wholesale and retail used equipment markets.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Caterpillar and competitive construction equipment product line and equipment application.
  • Must be able to comprehend equipment specifications, price lists, catalogs, and common industry reference material.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree.
  • BS Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • At least three years of management or sales experience.
  • Current drivers' license.
  • Maintain current MSHA card.
  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
