Job description

Implements strategies and management of department relationships with donors who give mid-level & major gifts ($1,000-$4,999) and planned gifts. This includes development of staff goals and management of a donor portfolio and moves process for team members to generate new and higher levels of giving.

  • Coordinate relationships with mid-level major ($1,000-$4,999) donors to exceed budgeted team goals.  This includes collaborating within the team and other departments and supervising volunteers.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                
  • Oversees a comprehensive donor relations, recognition and stewardship program to promote interaction and appreciation of donors, specifically for $1,000 and up annual donors with limited engagement for $500+ annual donors. This includes qualifying donors and providing personalized stewardship and asks.
  • Coordinate with Director to develop short and long range planning activities to support and implement fundraising goals and objectives
  • Coordinates with other departments to develop and maintain support materials needed to accompany proposals, sponsorship requests and stewardship materials.  
  • Collaborates with the Database Manager and other team members to analyze portfolios, strategize upgrades and establish goals for outright and planned giving
  • Coordinates donor stewardship/cultivation events, material production, and other stewardship activities needed for mid-level major donors.

 Bachelor’s degree in related field.

  • Strong critical thinking to develop larger team and department strategy for organizational needs and donor opportunities
  • High level of project management experience with ability to lead team members
  • Perception into relationship building to enable timely requests and responsive reporting
  • Remain knowledgeable of all Freestore Foodbank programs, services and events
  • Strong listening and interpreting skills in order to respond to donor needs.
  • Strong writing/story telling capabilities
  • Comfortable in public speaking/presentation
  • Ability to represent the organization externally, providing consistent and positive customer service

Minimum of two to three years of fundraising or customer service experience with proven success record in individual and/or corporate relations. Project management experience preferred.  Experience working directly with volunteers and upper level management is required.
