Job description

Position Title: Las Vegas - Mid Level Employment Litigation Associate
A nationally recognized labor and employment law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Employment Litigation Associate to join its Las Vegas office. This attorney will manage sophisticated employment matters, draft and respond to pleadings and discovery, argue motions, take and defend depositions, and advise employers on day-to-day workplace challenges. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with strong employment litigation experience who can work independently, collaborate effectively with multiple partners, and take ownership of their professional development.
Salary Range: $230,000 - $270,000 / Year DOE
Mid-Level Employment Litigation Associate Responsibilities:
  • Represent employers in a broad range of labor and employment litigation matters
  • Draft and respond to initial pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and other substantive legal documents
  • Conduct legal research and develop effective case strategies
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Prepare for and argue motions
  • Manage matters and deadlines while coordinating with partners, associates, paralegals, and support teams
  • Advise clients on day-to-day challenges involving federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Draft and revise employee handbooks, policies, and related workplace documents
  • Develop and deliver client training on employment law compliance and workplace practices
  • Educate clients through learning programs and technology-enabled resources designed to help them navigate complex business challenges
  • Build experience across different case types by working with multiple partners through the firm's free-market assignment system
  • Contribute to firm initiatives, pro bono matters, and other approved nonbillable activities

Mid-Level Employment Litigation Associate Requirements:
  • Active Nevada Bar membership in good standing
  • Mid-level experience handling management-side labor and employment litigation
  • Strong experience drafting pleadings, discovery, and dispositive or other substantive motions
  • Experience taking and defending depositions
  • Excellent legal research, writing, advocacy, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters, competing deadlines, and client priorities
  • Proactive approach with the confidence to seek out work and new professional challenges
  • Self-starter who can work independently and contribute effectively within a team
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, and client communication skills
  • Stable employment history and a demonstrated commitment to labor and employment law
  • Ability to meet an annual requirement of 2,000 hours, including up to 150 hours of approved firm-contributing activities such as pro bono work
