Job description

As ISI accelerates its growth and focuses on scaling its operations, we are seeking a knowledgeable and team-oriented Sales Engineer to join our GTM Market team. This role will play a pivotal part in supporting new business efforts by providing technical expertise and facilitating the discovery and qualification processes with our Sales Executives. The Sales Engineer will help identify client requirements, propose technical solutions, and ensure alignment with ISI's IT, cybersecurity, and compliance solutions.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in Managed Services Provider (MSP) environments and is comfortable advising on a range of technical areas, including on-premises infrastructure, virtualization, Google Workspace, AWS, and Microsoft environments. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-growth company that offers strong career development, a flexible work environment, and a collaborative culture.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead Technical Discovery: The Sales Engineer is responsible for performing technical discoveries against the environments of Qualified Sales Leads, surfacing pain points behind a prospect's stated ask and uncovering potential risks to effective service delivery.
  • Sales Artifact Creation: The Sales Engineer will assist in generating proposals, as well as formal Statements of Work regarding the deployment and configuration of specific technical solutions, including but not limited to select services within M365 GCC and GCC-H environments.
  • Compliance Translator: The Sales Engineer is responsible for asking targeted questions to understand a customer's business and environment, connecting what has been uncovered back to CMMC requirements, explaining gaps in plain language and architecting solutions that close them.
  • Cross Department Collaboration: The Sales Engineer should be able to effectively communicate with other departments within ISI when the supportability of a sale is in question, getting clarification when necessary.
  • Support Effective Post-Sale Handoff: The Sales Engineer must document what has been uncovered through technical discovery as part of structured knowledge transfers with ISI's service delivery teams.
Preferred Experience:
  • A strong candidate/applicant for the Sales Engineering position should have 3+ years' experience as a Sales Engineer or in an engineering role within an MSP, with familiarity in MSP economics and service delivery.
  • A strong candidate/applicant for the Sales Engineering position should have lived in Microsoft environments and ideally have hands-on familiarity with the quirks of GCC and GCC High specifically, not just commercial M365.
  • A strong candidate/applicant for the Sales Engineering position should have helped organizations move toward CMMC compliance and understand what a CMMC certification assessment demands.
  • A strong candidate/applicant for the Sales Engineering position can hold conversation with a prospect's IT leadership, as well as with technical stakeholders internal to ISI during working sessions.
  • A strong candidate/applicant for the Sales Engineering position should be comfortable with being the person who tells a prospect the inconvenient truth when it's the right thing to do.
Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • 3+ years in Sales Engineering or Engineering Role within an MSP.
  • Working knowledge of on-premises infrastructure, networking, virtualization, and Microsoft environments, with Microsoft 365 GCC and GCC High experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience operating in heavily regulated environments, with CMMC experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record in explaining technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Travel 5-10% for major opportunities and industry conferences.
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications:
Hold one or more of these and you'll have our attention. Actively pursuing them, or bringing equivalent hands-on experience? Still worth a conversation.
  • Registered Practitioner (RP): Can provide CMMC advisory and consulting services.
  • Certified CMMC Professional (CCP): Has command of the CMMC framework and assessment process.
  • Certified CMMC Assessor (CCA): Can bring assessor-level expertise in evaluating organizations against CMMC requirements.
  • AZ-104 - Azure Administrator Associate
  • AZ-700 - Azure Network Engineer Associate
  • AZ-500 - Azure Security Engineer Associate
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Base range of $100,000-$125,000 salary with commission.
  • Health and wellness benefits supporting real work-life balance.
  • Genuine upward mobility - this is a growing company and this seat has room to grow with it.
  • Hybrid or remote flexibility.
