Description:
As a Financial Analyst I - Merchant Acquiring is responsible for consolidating, summarizing, and analyzing financial data in order to create meaningful and accurate reports for internal and external consumption.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepares in an accurate and timely manner reoccurring financial reports.
• Support the financial information needs of officers and other departments by compiling monthly, quarterly, and annual reports regarding branch performance and other financial metrics, including any ad hoc reporting requests.
• Supports the Commercial Division in reporting needs and financial understanding.
• Reconciles incoming and outgoing cash to available system reports in order to ensure quality of the division's financials and satisfy internal and external audit requirements.
• Compiles reports and PowerPoint slides for committee presentations.
• Provides support for the Executive and Senior Management team.
• Maximizes the use of automated technology to achieve highest level of quality and efficiency of reports.
• Prepare automated reports utilizing department software providing analysis for departments and Executive Management team.
• Perform other job related duties or special projects as assigned
Competencies Required:
• Self-starter who uses time effectively and efficiently meeting required deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good analytical skills with strong attention to detail and concern for data accuracy.
• Solid technology abilities, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and database applications.
• Ability to demonstrate basic understanding of accounting, bookkeeping, finance or financial reporting acquired through education or on-the-job training.
• Strong organizing skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects with competing priorities and deadlines.
• Solid technology and internet skills, including strong Microsoft Office knowledge (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and professionalism.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
• 2+ years banking or financial industry experience required.
• Solid technology abilities required, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and database applications.
• 2+ years financial analyst/reporting experience required.
Formal Education & Certification:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
• Chartered Financial Analyst or Certified Public Accountant preferred.
