Job description

Overview
Are you passionate about influencing Microsoft's financial and strategic direction? Join the Revenue, Gross Margin and Planning team within the Central Finance Team (CFT). As a Finance Manager you will be at the hub of Microsoft's financial activities, providing critical insights that drive business decisions and managing forecasting and reporting processes. You will serve as a strategic partner to a diverse set of stakeholders, including CFOs, Senior Leadership, engineering groups, and sales and marketing teams. Your work will influence how senior executives, the Board of Directors, Wall Street analysts, shareholders, and employees understand Microsoft's financial outlook.
The Commercial BI team within CFT has a broad remit: ensuring the Commercial business has the right optics to plan, monitor and raise business conversations on discounting and renewal health.
We partner with a variety of finance stakeholders across all of finance to orchestrate and frame discussions around Commercial business metrics and KPIs, as well as custom ad-hoc analytic solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Lead "rhythm-of-reporting" across stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate monthly and quarterly close.
  • Drive business definition and governance on our Renewal Health Framework in alignment with business and finance partners across the company in the Commercial business (MCAPS, EGs).
  • Partner to eliminate manual efforts for data cleansing - through automation, machine learning, etc.
  • Own standard reporting and intake process for enhancements to our reporting solution for renewals.
  • Foster collaboration across our finance community to address ad-hoc analytics in service of appropriate business conversations to drive renewal health and execution.
  • Leverage data analytics resources and expertise in other teams to drive predictive analytics on renewals.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field OR equivalent experience.

Preferred:
  • Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 3+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 5+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles.
  • 1+ year(s) work experience in matrix-based organization.
  • 1+ year(s) work experience in the technology or software industry.

Financial Analysis IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,600 - $188,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $125,000 - $206,400 per year.
