Job description

Compensation: $68,000.00
The Finance Technical Analyst is part of the Business Services team and provides functional and technical support for the College's enterprise system. This position is responsible for reporting and analytics, system configuration, enhancements, testing, and ongoing functional support, ensuring that financial and student system processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with institutional priorities. The Finance Technical Analyst exercises independent judgment in analyzing system issues, recommending improvements, and implementing solutions. This position contributes to continuous improvement efforts by supporting end-to end business processes, system integrations, and data integrity across finance and student systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Analytics & Reporting
  • Collaborate with end users, business sponsors, and functional teams to gather and document requirements, identify solutions that support end-to-end processes, and enhance business capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge across Finance business processes and applications that support those processes.
  • Develop, maintain and deliver reports, dashboards, and analytics for Workday Financial Management, Payroll and HR related financial impacts and Student Accounting. Supports self-service reporting capabilities and ensures stakeholders have access to meaningful, accurate and actionable data.

System Enhancements, Configuration & Testing
  • Support continuous improvement of Workday Financials and Student Systems by participating in requirements analysis, solution design, business process configuration, system testing and validation, implementation of enhancements and updates.
  • Participate in biannual Workday releases, including test planning, script development, execution, and impact analysis across Finance, Payroll, HR, and Student systems.
  • Evaluate system changes and identifies impacts across integrated systems to ensure alignment and minimize disruption.

System Support
  • Provide ongoing functional support for Workday Financials, Payroll integrations, and Student Systems, serving as a point of contact for system-related inquiries and issues.
  • Investigate and resolve system errors, data inconsistencies, and workflow issues through root-cause analysis and collaboration with IT and functional teams.
  • Monitor Workday Community and other resources to proactively identify known issues, updates, and best practices impacting Finance and Student systems.
  • Support system security, data integrity, and proper system usage through coordination with IT and ERP support teams.

Cross-Functional Support & Partnerships
  • Identifie opportunities to improve system efficiency, reporting capabilities, and user experience across Workday Financials and Student Systems. Participates in governance discussions related to system enhancements, prioritization, and standards.
  • Maintain awareness of higher-education trends, regulatory requirements, and Workday functionality enhancements.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Associate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or another quantitative related field.
  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible financial reporting and/or accounting experience. Experience working with enterprise ERP systems supporting finance, payroll or student systems.
