Who We are looking for:

The Director of Events and Promotions is a strategic leader responsible for concepting, budgeting, planning, developing, executing, and analyzing all retail promotions, special events, and VIP programs to drive guest satisfaction and revenue objectives. This role combines creative event management with data-driven analytics, requiring someone who can inspire and motivate a team while managing complex operational details. Success in this position means delivering memorable guest experiences, managing department budgets effectively, and contributing to the overall profitability and brand positioning of the property.

 

What is expected of You:

  • Practice, support, and promote the core values and always demonstrating exemplary service standards.
  • Hire, motivate, evaluate, and direct department managers and team members, ensuring they receive the training, support, guidance, and necessary resources to accomplish established objectives.
  • Establish operating department standards, guidelines, and objectives, and maintain administrative processes such as budget and staffing to ensure proper planning, efficiency, and effective operation of assigned areas.
  • Direct long and short-term planning for all property level events and promotions, including analysis of programs and market opportunities, program effectiveness, and development of strategies to ensure adequate guest satisfaction and achievement of established revenue goals.
  • Plan, forecast, execute, and evaluate all event and promotion programs designed to increase trip frequency, increase database counts, and/or increase win per patron.
  • Monitor department expenses and prepare budgets and forecasts.
  • You will plan, organize, and coordinate assigned promotional and event projects in conjunction with marketing department objectives and tribal objectives, and compile both forecasted response rates and profitability per program and reconcile these forecasts against actuals.
  • Guide direction on all event and promotion collateral pieces in conjunction with the advertising agency and/or in-house art staff.
  • Make recommendations on property-related marketing issues to ensure informed decision-making on all relevant matters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience You will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing preferred, or related business degree required
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in casino promotions, casino VIP event planning and execution.
  • Minimum five (5) years in a leadership role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management in both written and verbal form.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of large crowds.
  • Knowledge of IGT player tracking systems (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Optix Systems (preferred).
  • Previous responsibility for department budgeting and forecasting.
  • Leadership ability with the capacity to inspire and motivate colleagues throughout the company.
  • Self-motivated, confident, energetic, and creative.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize appropriately.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office platforms, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
  • Well-versed in social media and communications technologies..

Physical Requirements:

  • Normal, corrective vision range; ability to see color; and ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
  • Manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for the duration of a shift.
  • Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, or noisy, and may contain secondhand smoke. Work may be performed in small areas with limited access. Tasks may be performed from sitting or standing positions and will require standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and grasping. Work may entail trained chemical usage and constant contact with team members and guests.
