Job description

Microsoft Dynamics GP Developer

Our client, a medical research company, is looking for a Microsoft Dynamics GP Developer for their Lenexa, KS / remote location.

Responsibilities:
  • System Development & Customization:
  • Design, develop, and deploy customizations within the Dynamics GP environment using tools such as Dexterity, Modifier with VBA, and Visual Studio Tools.
  • Integration Management:
  • Build and maintain data integrations between Dynamics GP and other enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, billing, HR systems) using eConnect, Integration Manager, and custom API development (C# /.NET).
  • Database & Reporting:
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers. Develop custom reports and dashboards using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SmartList Builder.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
  • Act as the technical escalation point for GP-related issues. Troubleshoot system errors, performance bottlenecks, and data integrity issues.
  • System Upgrades & Maintenance:
  • Assist in planning, testing, and executing Dynamics GP version upgrades, service packs, and the installation of third-party ISV products.
  • Documentation & Collaboration:
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation for customizations and integrations. Collaborate with business analysts, finance teams, and technical leadership to gather and refine requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Dynamics GP development, implementation, and technical support.
  • Core Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Dexterity, eConnect, Integration Manager, and C# /.NET.
  • Database Expertise:
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL programming, SSIS, and SSRS. Strong understanding of the underlying Dynamics GP database schema.
  • Analytical Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong ability to debug complex integrations and custom code.
  • Communication :
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical financial stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)
  • Experience with Dynamics GP migrations (e.g., moving to Dynamics 365 Business Central or Finance & Operations).
  • Familiarity with financial and clinical laboratory workflows (highly relevant if developing solutions within the healthcare or diagnostics sector).
