POSITION SUMMARY
Mutual Materials is seeking an Inside Sales Support Specialist to support our Portland Slabtown Showroom, customer care operations, house accounts sales, and outside sales team support. Located in Portland's vibrant Slabtown neighborhood, our showroom serves homeowners, contractors, architects, designers, and landscape professionals throughout the Pacific Northwest. The space showcases modern masonry and hardscape design while also serving as a gathering place for meetings, trainings, and industry events within the local design community.
This is a full-time, onsite position Monday through Friday. The role combines showroom support with customer care and inside sales responsibilities, including assisting customers with product information, order placement, availability, delivery coordination, and general customer support. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, communicates professionally, stays organized, and takes initiative. Experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, sales support, or inside sales is preferred. Interest in design, construction, architecture, or building materials is a plus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Support, Order Coordination, House Account Sales
  • Serve as the first point of contact for customer calls, emails, and showroom visits.
  • Assist customers with product information, pricing, availability, delivery coordination, and order status updates.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with assigned house accounts to grow and improve sales
  • Enter customer orders accurately and coordinate with sales, operations, and logistics teams to support timely fulfillment.
  • Respond to customer questions and help resolve order or service-related issues professionally and efficiently.
  • Support Sales team members with quotes, follow-up, and customer communication.
  • Build positive customer relationships through responsive and professional service.

Showroom Support
  • Create a welcoming and engaging experience for homeowners, contractors, architects, designers, and dealers visiting the showroom.
  • Help customers navigate product selections and connect them with the appropriate sales resources when needed.
  • Maintain showroom organization, displays, product samples, and overall presentation.
  • Support meetings, trainings, and events hosted within the showroom space.

Lead Follow-Up & Team Support
  • Follow up on customer inquiries and showroom leads.
  • Assist with outreach and communication to help drive engagement with the showroom and company products.
  • Collaborate with the sales and customer care teams to ensure a consistent customer experience.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • 1-3 years of experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, inside sales, or sales support preferred.
  • Professional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Organized, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Positive, customer-focused attitude with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and order entry software.
  • Interest in construction, design, architecture, or building materials preferred.
