Location: Main office in Raleigh, NC; hybrid (2 days in office, 3 remote). Occasional travel across the

Triangle and other parts of the state is required.

committed to supporting equity and justice for all by fostering community among Asian Americans

and allies in North Carolina through civic engagement, leadership development, grassroots

mobilization, and political participation.

NCAAT in Action (NCAATIA) builds political power among Asian Americans and allies in North

Carolina through voter education, progressive advocacy, and leadership development.

Position Summary

The Membership Engagement Manager is a mid‑level role responsible for building and sustaining a

dynamic, values‑driven membership program across North Carolina. This role centers on

relationship building, organizing, and data‑informed strategies to grow a diverse base and deepen

member engagement rooted in shared purpose. Ideal for someone passionate about community

power and belonging, the position offers opportunity for growth and leadership as the membershipprogram evolves. While this role does not supervise full‑time staff, the manager will coordinate

with volunteers and collaborate across multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities

Own and steer NCAAT/IA's Regional cohort program

●Innovate on and facilitate NCAAT/IA's regional cohort program in Charlotte, Raleigh,

Fayetteville, and Greensboro.

●Ensure region-specific events are held that take into account needs and are informed by

members' strengths and interests, while maintaining alignment with NCAAT's work.

●Help build regional cohort members' knowledge of advocacy work in collaboration with

NCAAT's program team to move them to action, including campaign building and public

comments on advocacy issues.

Own daily member communications and pipeline building

●Strengthen and build upon member relationships across North Carolina through 1:1 coffee

chats, hosting member events, and connecting members to relevant NCAAT program areas.

●Build upon a newly developed mission‑aligned strategy to grow and deepen membership

across North Carolina.

●Build clear engagement pathways from sign‑up to active participation and leadership.

●Ensure membership efforts are responsive to feedback and evolving community needs.

●Cultivate a welcoming and empowering member experience rooted in cultural diversity.

Use storytelling, narrative strategy, and relational organizing to recruit and retain members.


Cross‑T eam Collaboration and Integration

●Be the owner and facilitator of the weekly membership team meetings (including members

of the data team and leadership team) to keep stakeholders abreast of membership needs,

issues, and programming.

●Work with Community, Youth, Voter Engagement, Advocacy, and Communications teams to

embed membership across programs.

●Represent NCAAT and NCAATIA at outreach events, including occasional tabling and

community activities.
 

Data, Learning, and Optimization

●Collaborate closely with the data team to ensure NCAAT's membership growth model is

aligned with our theory of power building and change.

●Use tools like VAN and EveryAction to track member growth and engagement.

●Refine and monitor membership KPIs (1:1s held, membership tier definitions, growth, and

numbers within the model); refine strategies based on data and community insights.

Internal Leadership and Volunteer Coordination

●Manage the membership budget with strategic oversight.

●Coordinate and support volunteers, and coach staff across departments in centering

membership in their work for particular, discrete projects (all-hands events).

●Contribute member feedback and stories to organizational learning and strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience developing a membership program, issue campaign, or political campaign\

Experience in base building and growing participation in communities of color or

immigrant communities

Proficiency in data systems (EveryAction, VAN, Scale to Win) and experience

setting/assessing KPIs

Budget management experience with strategic resource use

●Excellent project management and multitasking skills

●Strong interpersonal and communication skills across diverse audiences

●Fluency or proficiency in an Asian language

Demonstrated commitment to racial equity and justice

●Flexibility to occasionally work evenings or weekends

●Willingness to support organization‑wide efforts beyond core responsibilities, including

civic engagement events or team‑based mobilizations

●Must have reliable transportation and a valid NC driver's license
