Job Description

Position Title: Member Solutions Specialist

Reports To: Member Solutions Director

Grade Level: 7

Hiring Salary Range: $20.18/hr - $25.23/hr


Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for the collection efforts on delinquent accounts for assigned branches. Interaction with branch personnel and teamwork in collection techniques required. Must represent CAFCU as a financial professional, effectively working with members to initiate and develop solutions for repayment timetable. Responsible for controlling delinquency and promoting credit union services to membership. Duties must be accomplished in compliance with federal and state laws and in accordance with the credit union’s policies and procedures and with constant attention to CAFCU’s creed, vision, mission and goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Collections

· Responsible for collecting on accounts for assigned branches that are delinquent by one month or greater.

· Report actual and projected delinquency sum of all outstanding delinquent accounts to the Member Solutions Manager.

· Meet weekly with the Member Solutions Manager, discussing delinquent accounts and branches.

· Maintain documentation of all verbal and written interaction with members.

· Prepare delinquent accounts to be charged-off each month.

· File all paperwork regarding bankruptcy claims for each member.

· Retain an attorney once it has been determined that a bankrupt account should be contested.

· Determine if/when a vehicle shall be placed for repossession. Including handling of the repossession company to be used along with filing of all proper paperwork pertaining to that vehicle.

· Notification to member regarding their right of redemption, notice of intent and the final accounting of repossession.

· Follow-up of all claims regarding Collateral Protection Insurance, Credit Life and Credit Disability Insurance.

· Maintain all member folders and their distribution.

· Interact with branch managers as needed.

· Collection of charged-off accounts in order to recover funds.

Business Development

· Responsible for member counseling, information and cross-selling of credit union services that may satisfy member’s needs.

Shared Departmental Responsibilities

· Distribute delinquency reports.

· Attend meetings, seminars and in-house training sponsored by CAFCU.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and minimum 2 years industry experience. Able to demonstrate sound judgment, reasoning, and the ability to multi-task. Communicating effectively, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills are crucial to this detail-oriented position.
