Job description

Melter: Aurora, Illinois
Our customer in Aurora, Illinois, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re hiring Melters to work full-time on 1st shift. As a Melter, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation, melting, and pouring of metal, as well as supporting casting operations and maintaining a safe, organized work environment.

Responsibilities of the Melter:
  • Assist with arranging less complex furnished molds and preparing materials for casting.
  • Pour furnished metal from ladle and operate vacuum and other casting equipment.
  • Follow instructions and demonstrations to coat and assemble simple molds.
  • Assist higher-graded casters with melting and pouring processes.
  • Check melt temperature, skim, clear surface, and pour specified amounts into molds.
  • Operate die opening machines, separate and inspect parts, and clean crucibles and furnaces.
  • Maintain accurate production records, report equipment malfunctions, material discrepancies, and unusual conditions.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • May operate power trucks and work collaboratively on large parts.
Melter Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
  • Must wear steel-toed shoes.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and operating equipment safely.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
Pay for Melter: Starting at $19.50/hour.
