Position: Racker
Job Type: Hourly 
Pay Rate: $15/hour 
Shift: 1st, Monday-Thursday (5 AM – 3:30 PM) 
Location: Grand Rapids, MI 
Bus Route Accessible, opportunity for 6 AM - 4:30 PM Shift Time

Summary:
The Racker supports the manufacturing team by preparing metal components for the finishing process and ensuring product quality standards are met. This role suits individuals looking for growth; opportunities exist to transition into a Quality Inspector function, with other areas to grow within the company and be promoted from within.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Securely attach metal parts to racks for finishing operations
  • Visually inspect components prior to processing to identify defects
  • Utilize custom racking for proprietary parts for each client
  • Accurately interpret racking requirements for various component types
  • Maintain familiarity with products and inventory identifiers
  • Comply with organizational procedures relating to environmental management and quality standards, including participation in internal audits
  • Execute additional tasks assigned by supervisors
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience required
  • Strong verbal communication skills preferred
  • Basic proficiency with computer systems preferred
  • Fundamental math abilities preferred
Working Conditions:
  • Must wear close-toed shoes in production areas
  • Manufacturing areas may not be temperature controlled
  • Follow established safety protocols when working with equipment
  • Standing, turning, or bending may be required through out the shift
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs may be necessary
  • Frequent repetitive movements are part of this role

  • Enforce site security and ensure all entry points are secure as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
