Job description

Operate induction furnace to melt various metals and alloys to proper temperature, chemistry and customer specifications. Load furnace with appropriate charge materials (scrap, pigs, alloys and additions). Check temperatures using pyrometer, and pouring of chemistry samples and taking of carbon and sulfur pins. Operate specific lab instrumentation to verify proper chemical compositions. Repair and maintain ladles for pouring and furnaces for melting. Required to pour metal and maintain carts for molds. Maintain records of heats poured, materials used, etc.
