Furnace Operator

Sistersville, WV

Precision International is currently seeking a full-time Furnace Operator to join their team in Sistersville, West Virginia. Founded in 1958, Precision has fulfilled metal fabrication needs by creating a professional and experienced team that is driven by customer satisfaction.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday

7 AM – 3 PM

Our Furnace Operator will:

  • Unpack and inspect cathode block and bars
  • Correctly charge and operate induction furnace
  • Monitor burners during preheating of the bar & block assemblies
  • Measure bar for correct centering and stick out
  • Correctly place kaowool, install and remove dams
  • Operate fork lift and crane safely
  • Take cast iron sample for analysis
  • Pour molten metal from the furnace to a ladle
  • Pour molten metal from a ladle into a cathode assembly
  • Adhere to all safety rules enforced by OSHA and Precision International

The right candidate will have:

  • Previous foundry experience is a plus
  • Ability to work in hot temperatures
  • Forklift certification is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as:
  • Safety rules
  • Operating instructions
  • Procedure manuals
  • Technical drawings
  • Ability to gather and document operations data
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work with regularly moving mechanical parts, machines, and equipment
