Job Summary
The Furnace Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining furnace equipment to melt and process aluminum materials. This role involves ensuring the furnace operates efficiently and safely while maintaining the desired quality of molten aluminum. The operator monitors temperatures, adds raw materials, and oversees the melting process to ensure compliance with safety and production standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Furnace Operation:
  • Start, operate, and shut down aluminum furnaces according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Adjust furnace settings to maintain optimal temperature and material flow.
  • Load raw materials into the furnace and monitor the melting process.
  • Ensure uniformity in molten aluminum composition through continuous monitoring and adjustments.

Quality Control:
  • Conduct routine checks of the aluminum's chemical composition and temperature.
  • Record furnace data, including temperature logs, material input, and melting times.
  • Conduct visual inspections and quality tests on molten aluminum to detect impurities or defects.

Safety and Maintenance:
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Regularly inspect furnace components for signs of wear or damage.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning furnace linings and replacing worn parts.
  • Report any mechanical issues or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.

Material Handling:
