Job Description

Under general supervision, supports foundry operations by performing duties related to the vacuum melting and pouring of metal into molds while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and production standards.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate vacuum induction melting (VIM) furnaces
  • Control temperature, vacuum levels, and melt cycles
  • Verify alloys and charge materials to melt schedules
  • Execute precise pours into investment casting molds
  • Take melt samples and document results
  • Maintain crucibles, furnaces, and vacuum systems
  • Follow AS9100-aligned procedures and quality standards
  • Follow all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a safe work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision


Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Investment casting vacuum melting experience required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with basic mathematics and computer applications
  • Ability to work in high-temperature environments


Reporting Relationship

  • Reports to Manager of Engineering
