Medical Records Specialist

Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Specialist to provide complex administrative support and manage critical document retrieval processes. The ideal candidate will ensure the security and integrity of Protected Health Information (PHI) while maintaining high levels of office efficiency and professional communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record Management: Accurately retrieve medical records via EMR access and fax; scan, attach, and file patient paperwork (including delivery tickets) daily.

  • Communication: Correspond with pharmacy personnel to request documents; prepare detailed outgoing correspondence and manage all incoming mail/routing.

  • Data Integrity: Organize and maintain complex computerized and manual databases; perform system backups, purging, and data retrieval in report form as required.

  • Compliance: Maintain strict patient privacy in accordance with corporate policies and HIPAA regulations; ensure the security and confidentiality of all PHI.

  • Operational Support: Attend departmental meetings and pharmacy in-services; maintain a professional demeanor and foster effective working relationships across all departments.

Qualifications

  • Professionalism: Proven ability to provide high-level responsiveness and communication to support a diverse customer base.

  • Adaptability: Must possess the ability to multi-task and pivot frequently in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm (onsite)
