Salem Transitional Care is looking for a dedicated Medical Records Manager to oversee our medical records department and help ensure our residents receive the highest quality of care through accurate documentation and regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do

As our Medical Records Manager, you'll play an essential role in ensuring resident medical records are accurate, secure, and compliant with all state and federal regulations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the Medical Records departmentย 
  • Maintaining accurate, complete, and organized resident medical recordsย 
  • Coordinating electronic medical records and scanning documentationย 
  • Auditing records to ensure compliance and accuracyย 
  • Managing data entry and documentation within the electronic medical record systemย 
  • Coordinating physician documentation, signatures, and timely completion of medical recordsย 
  • Maintaining HIPAA compliance and protecting resident confidentialityย 
  • Managing record retention, filing, and archiving in accordance with regulationsย 
  • Compiling reports for admissions, discharges, and other facility statisticsย 
  • Participating in Medicare and Managed Care Triple Check meetingsย 
  • Training, scheduling, and supporting Medical Records staffย 
  • Collaborating with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional resident careย

Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent requiredย 
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related field preferredย 

Experience

  • Two years of medical records or healthcare recordkeeping experience requiredย 
  • Long-term care experience preferredย 
  • PCC experience preferred
