Tenet-AZ Region is seeking a Medical Lab Technician Director for a job in Tucson, Arizona.

Job Description & Requirements

  • 40 hours per week
  • Shift: 8 hours

Position Summary  

Responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed in all areas of Laboratory Services. 

  • Ensures laboratory practices focus on and guarantee patient safety. 
  • Responsible for specimen collection and laboratory testing performed on all patients from neonates to geriatric patients. Responsible for Tenet Healthcare Laboratory technical development, implementation and integration within areas of technical expertise, to include instrument acquisition, logistic support and laboratory information systems integration. 
  • Develops and manages the annual department operating and capital budgets 
  • Directs daily operations of department  
  • Has ability to hire, fire and discipline 
  • Minimum Requirements
    • Experience: 5 years of progressive supervisory experience in an acute care facility 
    • Education: Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or related Health Science Specialty. Meets CLIA requirements for General Supervisor 
    • Certifications: Registered or registry eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT or equivalent) Licensure, as required by State law.  
  • Preferred Requirements

    • Experience: Lab Director experience 
    • Education: Masters in Allied Health Specialty or Health Administration or Business.
