Job description

A Hospital Laboratory Director opportunity is available in Nashville, TN, with a clinical laboratory services network supporting more than 250 acute and rehabilitation hospitals, physician practices, surgery centers, and commercial accounts across multiple divisions.
The role. The Laboratory Director leads all operations, programs, and activities for the hospital-based laboratory, ensuring regulatory compliance with standards set by CAP, JCAHO, CLIA, FDA, and CMS. This position sets and executes department strategies to meet goals across service, quality, financial performance, and personnel management, while overseeing the financial operation of the laboratory โ€” monitoring resource utilization, identifying variances, and preparing Monthly Operating Review reports. The Director is responsible for the full staffing lifecycle, from hiring and orientation through competency assessment, performance feedback, and ongoing coaching and development. Vendor relationships and supply contracts are managed in coordination with Laboratory Services and Supply Chain guidance, and a structured communication plan is developed and maintained to keep department personnel well informed.
What we're looking for.
โ€ข Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry required
โ€ข Master's Degree preferred
โ€ข National Certification as a Medical Technologist required
โ€ข State license where required (CA, FL, LA, NV, TN) โ€” required for submission
โ€ข 3+ years or more of progressive laboratory management experience is required with complex laboratory operations
โ€ข Leadership experience required
โ€ข Hospital clinical laboratory experience preferred
โ€ข This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and/or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved)
