Job Summary
As a member of the Arlo Device engineering team, you will be responsible for the development of video surveillance cameras, video doorbells, home monitoring/security systems, sensors and other IoT devices for service providers as well as for worldwide retail channels. These products will incorporate most of the following technologies: WiFi, BLE, SubG, NFC, Zigbee, Zwave, Ethernet, DNS/DHCP, IP, HTTP, SNMP, and embedded Linux.
The primary function of the DPM (Device Program Manager) at Arlo is to manage the project from kick off to mass production. The development process includes scheduling, ODM engaging, BOM reviewing, materials planning, manufacturing, sample distribution, FW/SW/Mech/ID/HW/RF development, end to end system testing, HW troubleshooting and all other day to day project activities.
Travel is occasionally required to support factory build in Vietnam, Taiwan or China.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Work with PLM for project roadmap planning
  • Manage schedule, engineering actions, BOM, build plan, material planning, and internal cross-functional teams
  • Manage End to End HW, FW, SW (Client and Cloud), and Mechanical engineering development
  • Manage oversea ODM partners and factory build
  • Manage regulatory certifications to ensure compliance per product launching scopes
  • Oversee product skus and collaterals development
  • Follow project development checklist to manage internal and oversea ODM engineering teams for test plans and test reports
  • Perform end-to-end system functional and performance level testing
  • Participate and track Alpha/Beta trial issues
  • Provide technical support to customer care team and field customer issues
  • Manage engineering sample distributions
  • Manage sustaining and post launch activities
  • Hosting design review and project meetings with oversea ODMs and internal teams
  • Assist management to refine and enhance project development and departmental processes

Qualifications and Skills
  • BS graduate in Computer or Electrical Engineering program or equivalent technical programs with minimum of 5 years related experience is desired
  • Strong coordination, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to lead and work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Technically savvy with the ability to understand, test and troubleshoot end-to-end product functions involve HW, FW, Apps and Cloud
  • Knowledge of battery technologies, HW design, bug tracking tools, and ability to read schematics and review PCB layout are essential
  • Software development, programming and/or scripting experience is preferred
  • Must be self-motivated and driven to achieve results
  • Proactive in taking ownership of issues and driving to resolution
  • Teamwork - This position requires a close working relationship with the extended teams and partners
  • Ability to speak Mandarin is an asset

The pay range for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at commencement of employment and is expected to be between $113,000 - 168,000/year, plus equity. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including location, role, job-related knowledge, skills, relevant education and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including bonus, equity, and a full range of benefits.
