Job Summary and Qualifications

As the AVP Medical Device Management (MDM,) you are responsible for the day-to-day management of MDM's customer-facing medical device contracting and clinical consultative offerings to HealthTrust members and non-members, the AVP will assist the VP in overseeing MDM's comprehensive clinical and contracting solution services and developing additional medical device competencies.

These solutions encompass end-to-end medical device services, focusing on reducing care variation, conducting cost analysis (especially concerning physician preference items and custom sourcing), and promoting value-based healthcare delivery. The objective for custom sourcing is to secure industry-leading pricing and contract terms and conditions. The goals of SurgIntel analytics, medical device consulting, and physician engagement are to illustrate implant utilization, supply cost variation, deep clinical categorization, and price benchmarking, identifying opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance, and waste mitigation.

The AVP will also serve as a liaison to the national medical device sourcing team, advisory services, and account management teams. In collaboration with the VP, this position will help set the functional and strategic direction for the medical device management team within HealthTrust.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Work with the VP to develop and maintain a portfolio of MDM Advisory Services & Solutions to assist members and non-members with medical device sourcing, procurement, physician utilization, standardization, education and opportunity analysis
  • Facilitate coordination and execution of clinical consulting (SurgIntel) and custom contracting efforts
  • Develop growth strategies to expand the MDM business and determine ways to scale the capacity of services delivered
  • Identify opportunities for PPI category expansion and/or custom contracting/consulting engagements
  • Promote strong client relationship management to improve client satisfaction and support HealthTrust
  • objectives
  • Assist HealthTrust Account Managers and Business Development teams in the identification of potential
  • clients and provide support throughout the sales process, including preparation of proposals, scopes of
  • work, pricing structures, market basket analysis, BAA, PA
  • Develop innovative recurring data reporting to provide members with actionable insight for clinical process

  • Working with the VP, establishes the strategic direction for the MDM clinical services agenda
  • Develop and implement standardized workflows and processes for consulting engagements, medical device assessments, technology, analytics, data reporting, strategic recommendations and follow-up

Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree is required; masterโ€™s degree, preferred.
  • 10+ years of leading healthcare contracts and negotiations experience is required.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% is required.
  • Healthcare Professional Certification, preferred.
