Capability Overview
The Senior Media Strategy Director is a senior strategic leader responsible for shaping and driving integrated, audience-first, and data-led media strategies across both digital and traditional channels.
This role goes beyond media planning, focusing on high-level client engagement, cross-market integration, and the application of advanced data, technology, and AI to deliver business outcomes. The Senior Director plays a critical role in connecting brand, performance, and communications strategy-guiding clients and internal teams toward modern, full-funnel marketing solutions.
Fundamental Responsibilities:
Be a passionate advocate and provocateur for brands, communications strategy, and modern marketing
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior clients, simplifying complex media and business challenges while identifying opportunities for growth
  • Lead strategic discussions with senior stakeholders, ensuring media investment aligns with broader business and brand objectives
  • Drive new business development and multi-market pitches in collaboration with Jellyfish Growth teams
  • Lead integrated, multi-market communication strategies across paid, owned, and earned channels, ensuring cohesive and compelling narratives. Deliver strategic direction across full-funnel media ecosystems, including both digital and traditional channels (Linear TV, DRTV, National & Local media)
  • Champion audience-first planning, leveraging data, insights, and tools (e.g., GWI, research, segmentation) to inform strategy
  • Lead the adoption of innovative and technologically advanced solutions, including AI, genAI, MMM, and cloud-based measurement approaches
  • Nurture senior client relationships, proactively identifying opportunities to drive commercial success
  • Inspire new ideas and fresh strategic thinking across media, content, and creative
  • Provide clear strategic direction to planning and activation teams, ensuring seamless integration across disciplines
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (creative, data, tech, and insights) to deliver unified marketing solutions
  • Mentor and develop teams, fostering a high-performance culture grounded in collaboration, innovation, and accountability
  • Lead multi-market pitches for Paid Media in collaboration with Jellyfish Growth teams

You'll be the glue for our clients' communications
  • Work alongside media planning and practitioner teams to provide broad direction on which paid and earned media channels are likely to best support reaching desired brand outcomes
  • Inspire new ideas and fresh direction, whether in strategy, media, content or creative - keeping a constant eye on category, audience, trends and new news in digital marketing
  • Recommend appropriate brand or campaign performance measurement based on an understanding of Measurements and available tools
  • Ensure that briefs are inspiring, based on consumer and category insights, include a clear and single-minded measurement approach, and are following strategic objectives
  • You'll love getting to know your clients, developing long-lasting relationships and adding value to their business.

Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in media strategy, communications planning, or integrated marketing roles within an agency or multinational organization
  • Demonstrated experience across both digital and traditional media channels, including Linear TV, DRTV, and National/Local media planning
  • Strong expertise in audience strategy, segmentation, and insight development, with hands-on experience using tools such as GWI
  • Proven ability to develop integrated, full-funnel media strategies that connect brand and performance outcomes
  • Exceptional leadership and team management experience, including mentoring and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively at senior levels
  • Advanced understanding of data, analytics, MMM, AI-driven solutions, and measurement frameworks
  • Demonstrated expertise in building compelling strategic narratives for pitches and client presentations
  • Deep understanding of the evolving media landscape, including emerging technologies, platforms, and consumer behaviors
