What is a media professional?

Media professionals are individuals who create, manage, and distribute content across various media channels, such as television, radio, print, digital platforms, and social media. Their roles can include journalists, editors, producers, photographers, videographers, and public relations specialists. Media professionals play a crucial role in informing, educating, and entertaining the public by ensuring that content is accurate, engaging, and relevant. They often work in fast-paced environments and must adapt to rapidly changing technologies and audience preferences.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a media professional?

To thrive as a Media Professional, you need strong communication, storytelling, and content creation skills, usually supported by a relevant degree in media, communications, or journalism. Familiarity with digital editing software, content management systems, and social media analytics tools is typically required. Creativity, adaptability, and the ability to work under tight deadlines are standout soft skills in this field. These skills and qualities are crucial for producing engaging content, meeting audience needs, and staying competitive in a rapidly evolving media landscape.

What are some common challenges media professionals face when working on tight deadlines?

Media Professionals often work under tight deadlines, especially when covering breaking news or producing timely content. This can make it challenging to ensure accuracy, maintain creativity, and coordinate with other team members such as editors, producers, or technical staff. Effective time management, clear communication, and the ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances are key to overcoming these challenges. Many organizations provide collaborative tools and support to help teams meet these demands while maintaining high-quality standards.

Overview

The B2B Social & Paid Media Activation Senior Consultant supports integrated paid and organic social strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and pipeline growth for Deloitte Digital. This role combines performance marketing execution with brand storytelling - building and optimizing paid social campaigns while contributing to organic content that positions Deloitte Digital as a distinctive voice in B2B markets. You'll collaborate with media, marketing, creative, and analytics teams to help translate business priorities into audience-targeted campaigns and content strategies that deliver measurable results across LinkedIn, Twitter/X, and emerging B2B social platforms.

We're looking for a detail-oriented social media professional who can execute paid social campaigns, contribute to organic content strategies, and help optimize programs across the Deloitte Digital business. If you're a performance-minded marketer who knows how to balance brand building with business outcomes, join the Deloitte Digital Performance Marketing team - where you'll support paid media budget management, assist with agency and vendor coordination, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive real business impact.

Responsibilities

Paid Social (50-60% of role):

  • Build, launch, and optimize paid social campaigns across LinkedIn, Twitter/X, and other B2B platforms
  • Support paid social budget tracking and assist with vendor and agency coordination
  • Execute audience targeting strategies, creative testing frameworks, and conversion optimization approaches
  • Analyze campaign performance and surface data-driven recommendations that improve ROAS, CTR, and cost-per-conversion
  • Collaborate with media planning and analytics teams to integrate social into full-funnel campaigns
  • Assist in developing and executing A/B testing strategies for creative, copy, audience segments, and bidding approaches

Organic Social & Content (40-50% of role):

  • Contribute to organic social strategies that support brand awareness, thought leadership, and audience engagement
  • Help create and manage social content calendars in partnership with marketing and business stakeholders
  • Write compelling social copy that brings an authentic, credible voice to the Deloitte Digital brand
  • Conduct social listening and audience research to inform content strategy and campaign messaging
  • Support executive visibility and solution-focused content initiatives as needed
  • Help define the role of organic social within integrated marketing campaigns

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with creative, content, analytics, and channel teams to support integrated campaign execution
  • Prepare and contribute to performance reporting and campaign recaps for marketing stakeholders
  • Collaborate with US and Global teams to align on campaign strategy and platform best practices
  • Work in an agile manner with media and marketing teams to help optimize live campaigns based on real-time performance

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in paid social media, digital marketing, or performance marketing, with demonstrated success supporting B2B campaigns
  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing or a related discipline
  • Hands-on experience building and optimizing paid campaigns in LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Meta Business Manager, and Twitter/X Ads
  • Strong analytical skills with experience translating performance data into optimization recommendations
  • Experience supporting paid media budget management and assisting with vendor relationships
  • Solid understanding of B2B audience targeting, funnel strategy, and conversion optimization
  • Proficiency with Sprinklr, Hootsuite, or similar social media management platforms
  • Prior experience working on a virtual team within a highly matrixed organization, preferably for a global corporation or professional services firm
  • Microsoft Office Suite skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with integrating various technologies to support marketing efforts
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with marketing attribution models and multi-touch campaign measurement
  • Experience with GA4, Tableau, or similar analytics platforms
  • Strong copywriting skills with B2B audience experience
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns and competing priorities with strong organizational skills
  • Comfortable making data-informed decisions with guidance from senior team members
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to contribute to stakeholder-facing performance updates
  • Ability to adapt and stay productive in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities
  • Understanding of Agile methodology; experience with Workfront preferred

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $91,100-$179,500.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
