SUMMARY:
The Mechanical Manager is responsible for leading the overall management of the mechanical trades for a project, in both an estimating and preconstruction capacity. This role is responsible for understanding the deliverables, developing a work plan, and identifying resources required, while coordinating with the Lead Estimating Manager / Preconstruction Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, architecture or related field or equivalent relevant experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in estimating for commercial construction

  • Experience leading the bidding and budgeting process for the mechanical trades for a project

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of engineering and construction management, including safety, quality, constructability and sustainability standards

  • Leadership level communication and organization skills

TECHNICAL JOB KNOWLEDGE:
  • Leads budget / bid / GMP assembly for the trade specialization

  • Prepares detailed estimates at all phases of design; proficient in Division 15

  • Manages and coordinates division 15 with all other divisions

  • Leads constructability reviews for the mechanical trades

  • Leads the development of specific systems analyses and creation of Value Engineering and Alternates lists / logs

  • Researches and compiles historical data for use in future estimate and bid preparation

  • Participates in design progress / project meetings and client presentations

  • Owns responsibility for overall trade partner / supplier coverage and effective communication and management; strategically identifies and aligns the most qualified trade partners for the market sector and scope

  • Counsels, educates and coaches staff to help them develop necessary job skills

  • Builds relationships with trade partners / suppliers, clients and design teams

The base salary (or hourly) range for this position is
$105,000.00 - $135,000.00
