Job description

MATHEMATICS LECTURER, Concourse, to join an interdisciplinary program for fifty first-year students where the teaching of physics, mathematics, and chemistry is integrated with the humanities. The primary responsibility is teaching the first-year math curriculum (calculus, multivariable calculus, and differential equations) with a full teaching load of two 12-unit subjects each term, typically six firm hours of lecture and four hours of recitation. Will be responsible for supervising TAs conducting recitation work and coordinating all curriculum elements including topics, homework, and exams with other lecturers to ensure a truly integrated experience for the students. Beyond the classroom, lecturers are an active part of the Concourse community including participating in our weekly program seminar (about two hours per week), advising students, and joining in program reviews. Concourse is made up of students and instructors who want to address fundamental questions about "the good life" and how the study of science deepens our understanding of the human experience.
