Position Title:ย Float Assistant Materials Manager
Department: Materials Management / Central Supply
Reports To: Director of Materials

Status: Non-Exempt | Full-Time
Location: Salinas

Weโ€™re excited to announce an opportunity for aย Float Assistant Materials Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys traveling between sites, and has a strong understanding of surgical supplies and logistics.

Position Summary:
The Float Assistant Materials Manager plays a vital role in supporting daily operations of supply chain and inventory functions across locations. This position works under the supervision of the Director of Materials and assists with ordering, receiving, stocking, inventory reconciliation, vendor coordination, and backfilling for site-based materials staff during absences or high-volume periods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support in managing surgical and procedural supplies
  • Assist with inventory control, restocking, and cycle counts
  • Verify deliveries and ensure accurate documentation of shipments and receipts
  • Support equipment and supply availability for scheduled cases
  • Maintain clean and organized central supply areas according to infection control standards
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new staff as needed
  • Foster strong relationships with clinical and administrative teams at each site
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Materials and site Clinical Directors
  • Previous experience in materials management, sterile processing, or surgical supply chain preferred
  • Working knowledge of inventory systems, medical terminology, and surgical supplies
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to multiple site environments and workflows
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to travel between locations (mileage reimbursed)
  • Must be able to lift 30โ€“50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
