We're looking for a detail-oriented Materials Analysis Technician to support product development and quality initiatives through advanced chemical and materials testing in Analytical Services, Rigid Packaging Solutions North America. In this role, you'll work with cutting-edge laboratory equipment, collaborate with engineers, and help troubleshoot and improve products that make a real impact. Key Job Accountabilities
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment per 6S standards.
  • Operate and interpret output from laboratory materials analysis testing equipment.
  • Perform routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory materials analysis equipment.
  • Perform testing to characterize plastic materials in support of the business, including development and production.
  • Troubleshoot potential product issues for customer use and/or product development projects.
  • Provide detailed reports of instrument outputs and analyses.
  • Communicate with product development engineers and quality assurance personnel to ensure proper testing is completed.
  • Improve measurement techniques and testing.
  • Train others on testing procedures regarding new products or tests, as necessary.
  • Maintain databases and record workflow as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Prefer Chemistry, Material Science, or related field. Closely related industrial experience may be substituted for degree relevance.
  • Experience in plastics or relevant industries preferred.
  • Understanding of laboratory materials analysis instrumentation.
  • Self-motivated with ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of computer software such the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to travel, as necessary.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. occasionally.
