Demand Forecasting Analyst
Level: Salaried
Department: Supply Chain – Inventory Forecasting amp;amp; Replenishment
Reports To: Demand Planning Manager
Direct Reports: None
Travel: Very limited
Location: Fort Wayne, IN (on-site)
Position Summary
Do it Best is seeking a Demand Forecasting Analyst to support and continuously improve the forecasting and replenishment of inventory across our distribution network. This role is responsible for developing accurate short- and long-term demand forecasts, identifying opportunities to improve planning processes, and partnering cross-functionally to support department objectives, including inventory turns and order fill rates.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced,
data-driven environment. This role works closely with Supply Chain, Merchandising, Marketing,
Product Management, and external partners including vendors and member stores.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage short- and long-term demand forecasts to optimize inventory levels across Retail Service Centers
  • Lead Category S&OP (Sales amp;amp; Operations Planning) reviews with Product Management to align forecasts with market trends and business expectations
  • Present S&OP outcomes and insights to Merchandising leadership
  • Monitor system alerts and make appropriate demand and supply planning adjustments
  • Maintain and manage item master data within JDA / Blue Yonder Demand Planning (DFUs, Demand Units, etc.)
  • Analyze and adjust item-level forecasts across multiple departments and categories
  • Provide accurate, timely forecast order projections to Merchandise Managers and vendor partners
  • Partner with Merchandise Managers on new item introductions, including forecast development and launch support
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance forecast accuracy and planning efficiency
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, mathematics, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience in supply chain planning or analytics
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Mail) and/or Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into action
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach with a willingness to challenge assumptions and propose innovative solutions
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and hands-on approach
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with demand forecasting software, preferably JDA / Blue Yonder
  • Prior experience in supply chain planning, demand forecasting, or inventory management
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and become proficient in forecasting and replenishment systems
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Creative thinking with an ability to visualize data and outcomes
  • Service-oriented mindset with a strong desire to support internal partners and members
  • Basic knowledge of hardware or home improvement products
