Job description

Electrical Installer – Load Panels & Solar Battery Systems
Master Chef Mobile Kitchens Inc. | Hicksville, NY

About Us
Master Chef Mobile Kitchens Inc. (MCMK) is a leading Northeast custom manufacturer of food trucks, mobile kitchens, concession trailers, and push carts. We design and build professional mobile kitchens and install the electrical systems that keep them running: 110V / 220V single-phase and 3-phase load panels, generators, battery energy storage systems (BESS), low-voltage systems, 12V inverters, CAT6 wiring, and related mechanical infrastructure.

The Role
We are hiring an Electrical Installer focused on installing load panels and setting up solar battery systems on our custom builds. You will work in our Hicksville shop and on local units, installing, wiring, testing, and maintaining electrical and energy-storage systems so our customers get reliable, code-compliant mobile kitchens.

Core Responsibilities

  • Install, wire, and commission 110V / 220V single-phase and 3-phase load panels, including low-voltage 12V components, on food truck and mobile kitchen builds.
  • Set up and integrate solar battery systems / BESS, including batteries, inverters, charge controllers, and related components.
  • Wire CAT6 and install CCTV systems.
  • Perform preventative and corrective electrical work, troubleshooting, and testing with multimeters, clamp meters, and similar tools.
  • Document work orders, time, materials, and as-built notes.
  • Follow Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and OSHA practices.
  • Work independently or as part of the fabrication team; help train helpers as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of relevant electrical installation or maintenance experience preferred.
  • Strong hands-on electrical experience with load panels, generators, and battery/solar systems (commercial, industrial, or vehicle/mobile applications).
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams and work to code on single-phase and 3-phase systems.
  • Experience installing or servicing inverters and battery energy storage preferred.
  • Experience with low-voltage systems, 12V inverters, CAT6, and CCTV a plus.
  • Solid safety habits and a reliable work ethic.
  • Must speak english

Work Environment

  • Shop and local job sites. Candidates should live within about 20 miles of Hicksville / the New York City area.
  • Shop work; lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Occasional weekend work.

Compensation
$30.00–$40.00 per hour, DOE.
