Job description

Job Description and Requirements The Marketing Communication Specialist will be primarily responsible for developing content for distribution via our social media channels and credit union website, while also managing social media conversations and generating overall positive social media engagement. In addition, they will support all corporate communications as needed by the Corporate Communications team.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end development and production of video content for social media and internal communications, including concept development, scripting, filming, editing, graphics and post-production, while ensuring content aligns with brand standards and audience needs
  • Create innovative content that drives audiences to the credit union’s website and social media channels
  • Generate copy that communicates clearly and efficiently
  • Create, maintain, and update content for third-party channels as needed
  • Prepare, proof, and edit communications for internal and external audiences
  • Increase brand awareness through social media efforts
  • Assist in the development of presentations, media kits, and sales/marketing collateral
  • Develop strategic and innovative methods for engaging through social media
  • Manage projects and work with other departments within the credit union
  • Reach out to key influencers by brand to build relationships and drive conversations
  • All other duties as assigned (Note: essential functions and responsibilities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice)
Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications, Journalism or Marketing
  • Three to five years of previous job-related work experience
  • Comprehension and experience with multiple social media channels and measurement tools
  • Strong knowledge of content development and optimization
  • Demonstrated writing and media pitching ability
  • Corporate communications expertise
  • Ability to communicate in a consumer-friendly voice, tone and style
  • Ability to function in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Flexibility to coordinate and respond to social media during off-hours/weekends as needed
