About this Position
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator develops and implements strategic marketing and communication initiatives that support enrollment growth, student engagement, and institutional awareness for OSU Online, Outreach, and Individual Study within the Institute for Teaching and Learning Excellence (ITLE). This position leads multi-channel digital marketing campaigns, develops and optimizes prospective student communication strategies, manages social media and website content, and utilizes marketing analytics to evaluate and improve campaign performance. Working collaboratively with academic programs, university partners, and departmental leadership, the coordinator ensures accurate, timely, and compelling communications that promote undergraduate and graduate online degrees, certificates, courses, and outreach initiatives. Responsibilities also include market research, budget and vendor coordination, CRM communication management, supervision of student marketing staff, and support for departmental event registration and web content.
The ideal candidate combines strong writing, digital marketing, and analytical skills with the ability to collaborate across teams to support OSU Online and ITLE's engagement and growth goals. This role works closely with the Director/Vice Provost, Director of Academic Programs, ITLE staff, and college departments to promote undergraduate and graduate online degrees, certificates, online courses, and ITLE events throughout the OSU community, the state, the region, and the country.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's

    Communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, or related field.
    (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

  • Six months of related work experience.

    Additional post-secondary education beyond requirements may substitute for years of required experience.

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

Oklahoma driver's license or ability to obtain an Oklahoma driver's license within 30 days of hire. Reliable transportation for travel connected with official duties.  Reimbursement for official travel. 

Duty reporting is in-person on the OSU campus in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

Demonstrated experience in communications, including social media, video, web content, writing, editing, and content creation. Related work experience may include general communications, social media management, website editing, graphic design, publishing, and campaign planning and implementation.
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to organize materials; write and edit effectively; visualize concepts; and communicate and interpret goals. Demonstrated proficiency in AP style and adaptive writing is required. Social media experience is required, along with knowledge of communications principles and the ability to align content with audience needs. The successful candidate must learn quickly, adapt to a rapidly changing environment, and collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.

  • Master's
