Overview

Waters Corporation is seeking a strategic and results-driven Market Development Manager to lead the growth of our Environmental and Materials Science business across the Americas. This role will be responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive business plan that aligns with and supports the region's revenue goals. The role spans the Waters total portfolio including instruments, consumables and application-specific offerings with a focus on environmental and materials science testing, regulatory compliance, and sustainability-driven market trends. This individual will serve as the regional subject matter expert on environmental and materials science markets, driving initiatives in collaboration with global marketing, sales, and technical teams.

Responsibilities
  • Own the development and execution of the Americas environmental and materials science business plan to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Analyze market trends, regulations, customer needs, and competitive activity to develop regional strategy.
  • Partner with corporate marketing and field sales teams to implement regionally relevant marketing campaigns, demand generation initiatives (seminars, webinars, user meetings, customer visits) and strategic messaging.
  • Identify and prioritize key growth opportunities, customer segments, and application areas (e.g., PFAS, Polymers, Microplastics, Semiconductors).
  • Support the sales team with market insights, value propositions, and tools that position Waters as a leader in environmental and materials science testing. Fully understand, maintain, and report on competitive activities and positioning.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with product management, ERA, TA and Wyatt teams, applications support, business development, and regulatory affairs teams.
  • Communicate business performance, key metrics, and progress toward budgeted goals to senior and executive management, providing insights and recommendations as needed.
  • Identify and build collaborative partnerships with key scientists and KOLs within Americas. Drive collaboration and knowledge sharing through the development of scientific networks.
  • Develop presentations for internal and external stakeholders as well as advocate for scientific content needed to support customers and sales strategies.   
  • Lead Waters at key industry conferences, regulatory forums, and customer events as a thought leader and advocate for Waters analytical solutions.
  • Undertake domestic and overseas travel in support of the Americas Field Marketing organization.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in chemistry or environmental science or materials science
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in marketing, sales or business development
  • Strong understanding of environmental and materials science regulations, industry drivers and testing workflows using LC, GC and MS
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business plans
  • Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet Waters core values
  • Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all corporate departments
  • Self-motivated with the ability to flexibly respond to changing demands
  • Willingness to travel within the Americas region as needed (approximately 25%)                 #LI-Remote
