Job description

SPP Miami, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners and corrugated manufacturing industry leader, currently has an exciting opportunity available for a Plant Schedulerin Hialeah, FL. The Plant Scheduler will schedule machine operations, oversee and coordinate all production activity with sales, sales service and shipping department to ensure that the orders are being handled properly.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
  • Schedule production machines in the most effective and efficient way possible.
  • Order roll stock, coordinate with Plant Manager the unloading and release of railcars.
  • Manage the roll stocks in the warehouse.
  • Take the lead on monthly inventories at the remote warehouse and at SPP warehouse with inventory team to ensure proper scanning, and entry into Axiom.
  • Responsible for picking up, and double checking all BOL's from trucks, and trains to ensure all are received in system correctly.
  • Communicate with the Clamp driver to confirm railcars numbers, and to release railcars before deadline time.
  • Coordinate all production activity with sales, sales service and shipping to ensure customers' orders are being handled properly.
  • Work with Customer Service on customer order and any potential issues.
  • Handle many system issues with vendors, CTI Solutions and IT Department.
  • Inform shipping when adding new orders to schedule or make changes to schedule. Must be available to modify schedule remotely in case of machine issues after hours to modify schedule.
  • Comply with Company Policies and Procedures.

SPP MIAMI REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret production reports, technical procedures, manuals, regulations, and code.
  • Ability to write business reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and outside company officials.
  • Product and Machine specifications.
  • Computer Data entry.
  • Quality standards ---(e.g. ISO 9001/2000 and EMS 14001).
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts related to production scheduling as well as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, and volume.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and measurements furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in corrugated scheduling department and or/Box Plan operations.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Computer literate (good computer Data entry skills).
  • Proficient in Office 360 applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
