JOB SUMMARY:

Assist the Materials Superintendent/Inventory Control Supervisor in leadership and technical/administrative duties in the materials planning and scheduling group

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Directs the material planning and scheduling functions to meet the facility's planned objectives and satisfy customer needs.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety rules, and attendance policies to include making appropriate recommendations on disciplinary actions.
  • Perform supervisory duties for temporary periods of time, as assigned
  • Assists in resolving material related issues and makes recommendations to eliminate future problems.
  • Assist the Materials Supervisors in completing Supervisor Investigation Reports. Identifies and reports potential safety issues.
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting absentee records, labor reporting, overtime approvals, etc.
  • Involved actively in continuous improvement activities. Manages inventory and record accuracy through monitoring shortages, supplier follow ups, negative on-hands, and daily performance metrics.
  • Develops and directs internal/external material flow plans.
  • Reviews and helps develop material procedures and policies to meet safety, quality, delivery and cost goals.
  • Drives efficient supplier and interplant material arrivals to meet production and parts requirements while optimizing inventory levels, lead times, packaging requirements, transportation costs, and minimizing plant down time.
  • Trains and assists the plant Planners and Schedulers while providing career guidance for added experience and training.
  • Helps develop Planner and Scheduler skills and Lean approaches to daily operations.
  • Any special projects you are asked to complete.
  • Works cooperatively to develop new ideas and enhance procedures in the team.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

2 years of Material Planning/Scheduling experience

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills required

Computer skills required

Knowledge of MAPICS desired

Knowledge of MRP systems desired

Strong written and verbal communication skills required

Must be able to lift 40lbs

  • 6 Months Between Department Transfers or Promotions

  • Must have received a 'Meets Expectation' in the most recent performance review, if applicable.

  • Candidates already assigned to the work unit (Assembly, Weld, Materials, Quality, etc.) willbe considered first.If a suitable candidate is notidentified, all other eligible candidates will be considered.

  • Failure to attend a scheduled interview (No Show), without notice, will result in being ineligible for future roles for 6 months.

  • If selected for the position, youare required tomove into the position upon the effective date.If you are no longer interested in the position, you must withdraw prior to an offer being presented.If unable to accept the position as expected, you will be ineligible for future roles for 1 year from the date of refusal.
