Job description

Our Machine Operator sets up and operates production equipment on an assigned line while ensuring safe, efficient, and high quality output. This role is well suited for someone with mechanical aptitude who enjoys hands on work, problem solving, and continuous learning in a manufacturing environment. We are now hiring for both 2nd and 3rd shifts!
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate production equipment, completing start up and shut down procedures safely and efficiently
  • Maintain line speed to support smooth product flow and prevent material buildup
  • Perform mechanical adjustments, minor repairs, and production changeovers as needed
  • Complete required electrical work under NFPA 70E standards based on training
  • Operate a forklift to move finished product
  • Support block changes and other line changeovers
  • Inspect finished goods and promptly report quality or equipment issues
  • Complete accurate production and quality reporting
  • Follow and support all safety practices and initiatives
  • Assist team members as needed and support continuous improvement efforts
  • Cross train and develop skills, including training toward leadership responsibilities
  • Complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required, or in process of completion
  • Minimum six months manufacturing or production experience preferred
  • Ability to learn or apply electrical work under NFPA 70E standards
  • Basic math and communication skills
  • Ability to read and follow safety rules and operating instructions
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Forklift experience preferred with ability to obtain certification
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and perform physical job demands throughout the workday
  • Ability to work in a non temperature controlled, loud production environment

Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in a related field is preferred.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
- Experience in process improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role is advantageous.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
- Excellent understanding of safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficient in using computer software for data entry and reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead by example.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
