Job description

A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As an Associate Manufacturing Engineer at MKS Vacuum Solutions Division, you will partner with Product Engineers, Quality, Planning, and Production Leaders and work closely with a diverse group of production machinists, welders, and assembly operators to improve and sustain production processes and help support the manufacturing strategy for the MKS Broomfield, CO operations. In this role, you will report to the Sr. Supervisor of Manufacturing Engineering.


You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Analyze existing systems and processes and identify value-added and non-value-added activities to solve design challenges.
  • Conceive, design, develop, and test innovative solutions based on analysis and organizational objectives.
  • Contribute to resolving quality and efficiency issues at the component level.
  • Implementation and Control of Manufacturing Documents (Work Instructions, Tool Drawings, Process Drawings, etc.).
  • Estimate manufacturing cost, review/update time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
  • Evaluate new and existing processes, equipment, and materials as an input for scheduling methods, performance metrics, and financial standards.
  • Uphold the company's reputation by delivering innovative solutions while adhering to local and national regulations.


Skills You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and Safety and Lean Continuous Improvement.
  • Understanding of analytical tools, workflow time studies, and process balancing.
  • Ability to collaborate with Design engineers, program managers, manufacturing leads, and functional leads.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication, listening, and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of solid modeling and Tool/Fixture Design. Experience with Oracle and Agile.
  • Familiarity with Product Engineering, Product Design Reviews and ECR/ECO systems, BOM structure and Engineering Documentation.


Preferred Skills:

  • Familiar with Tubular Components and CNC Machining. CNC programming a plus.
  • Familiar with TIG welding and Orbital welding. Interest in robotics for manufacturing.
  • Understand principles of DFM and DFA.
  • Experience with 3D printing.
  • Experience with Mechanical Assembly.


Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • May require manual dexterity and coordination of objects in normal range.
  • Occasionally may move or position objects up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information.
  • Operates in a professional office and manufacturing environment.
  • Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards, including handling mechanical hardware.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually average.

This position is onsite and candidate must live within commutable distance to our location in Broomfield, CO. Relocation benefits are not available for this position.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Pay Range: $62,000 - $75,000 per year. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.

    At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

  • Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].

  • Benefits: MKS offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance coverage (medical, dental and vision), 401(k) with company match, life and disability insurance, 12 paid holidays, sick time, 15 paid vacation days, [6 weeks fully paid] parental leave, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement [and for participation in any stock programs, signing bonus, etc.
