Job description

Location: Texas (Amarillo, Abilene, San Antonio) + Monroe, LA.  (Travel Required) Flynn will provide housing accommodation.


Flynn is seeking an experienced Traveling Waterproofing Superintendent to lead field operations across multiple commercial construction projects. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong expertise in building envelopes and waterproofing systems who thrive in fast-paced, high-exposure environments.

Position Summary

The Waterproofing Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field operations related to waterproofing and building envelopes. This includes managing foremen and crews, coordinating project schedules, ensuring quality installation, and maintaining strict safety compliance.


This is a specialized superintendent role, not a general superintendent position and requires deep knowledge of waterproofing systems, sequencing, and installation best practices.

What We Are Seeking

  • Lead and supervise waterproofing foremen, crews, and subcontractors across multiple job sites
  • Manage daily field operations, manpower planning, and project schedules
  • Ensure work meets project specifications, manufacturer requirements, and company standards
  • Coordinate with general contractors, project managers, and other trades to maintain proper sequencing
  • Conduct quality control inspections and resolve installation challenges
  • Enforce safety policies and maintain a strong safety culture on-site
  • Provide technical expertise on waterproofing systems and complex details
  • Track job progress, production, and reporting
  • Familiarity with systems from Tremco, Sika, Carlisle, GCP, Soprema, or similar
  • Proven experience managing multiple crews and traveling projects
  • Strong understanding of waterproofing sequencing and trade coordination
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
 

Strong working knowledge and field oversight experience with:

Waterproofing & Weather Barrier Systems

  • Foundation sheet waterproofing and insulation
  • Fluid-applied and sheet-applied weather barriers
  • Hot rubberized asphalt (HRA), cold fluid-applied asphalt (CFA), and polyurea
  • Traffic coatings, podium decks, and horizontal systems
  • Roof paver systems
  • Firestopping

Sealants, Joints & Flashings

  • Air barrier systems
  • Expansion joints (including compressed foam systems)
  • Sealants across masonry, concrete, glazing, metal panels, and civil work
  • Detail caulking, control joints, and dynamic joint systems
  • Sheet metal flashings and watertight trim applications

Building Envelope Components

  • Foundation insulation and flashing integration
  • Glazing-related sealants and transitions
  • Waterproofing accessories and detailing
