Housing Case Manager (Spanish/English)
Location: White Plains, NY 10601
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Position Type: Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: $21-$24/hour

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented professional to support individuals and families accessing affordable housing and community-based housing assistance programs in the White Plains area. This role is an excellent fit for entry-level social workers, recent graduates in social work or human services, and candidates with experience in social services, nonprofit organizations, shelters, case management, resident services, or community outreach who are looking to grow their careers in a structured, mission-driven environment.
As a Housing Case Manager (Spanish/English), you will work directly with residents, families, and property owners participating in housing assistance programs. You will play a key role in supporting housing stability, guiding participants through program requirements, and ensuring accurate administration of housing processes in accordance with applicable regulations and guidelines. This role blends meaningful direct service work with structured administrative responsibilities, making it ideal for those looking to build foundational experience in the social services and housing field.
Housing Case Manager (Spanish/English) Key Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with individuals and families participating in housing assistance programs, as well as landlords and property owners within the community
  • Conduct eligibility reviews, re-certification appointments, interviews, and participant briefings
  • Collect, review, and verify income, household, and supporting documentation to determine continued eligibility for housing programs
  • Communicate program updates, decisions, and requirements clearly and professionally to participants and property owners
  • Support participants through housing transitions such as moves, lease changes, and program updates
  • Maintain accurate case records, electronic files, and database documentation in compliance with program standards
  • Prepare weekly and program-related reports in an accurate and timely manner
  • Assist participants in understanding program guidelines, housing processes, and available community resources
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external housing partners to support successful housing outcomes
  • Ensure confidentiality and careful handling of sensitive personal and financial information
  • Manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining accuracy, organization, and responsiveness

Housing Case Manager (Spanish/English) Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, psychology, sociology, or a related field preferred but not required
  • Entry-level candidates and recent graduates with internship, volunteer, or practicum experience in social services or community support strongly encouraged to apply
  • At least three (3) years of experience working with individuals and families in social services, nonprofit organizations, shelters, affordable housing, case management, or community outreach also considered in lieu of a degree
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Compassionate, patient, and motivated to support individuals and families through housing and life transitions
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to review documentation, perform basic calculations, and maintain accurate records
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a structured, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
