Position Logistics

ยท Location: Strip District, Pittsburgh, PA โ€“ Onsite 3-5 days/week

ยท Reports To: Director of Software Engineering

ยท Work Model: Hybrid. Flexible with minimum of 3 days/week onsite


What YOU Will Do:


The ideal candidate will have a background in localization and mapping using SLAM. We are looking for candidates who have a desire to learn and innovate in a fast-paced environment to help improve our robotic platform.


Key Responsibilities:

ยท Implement and optimize real-time 3D LiDAR SLAM and LiDARโ€“Inertial Odometry (LIO) mapping for robust localization in dynamic, unstructured environments.

ยท Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and well-documented code, while sharing best practices with team members.

ยท Develop software modules with a focus on real-time performance, scalability, and fault tolerance for production deployments.

ยท Integrate sensor fusion pipelines combining 2D/3D LiDAR and IMU data to enable robust and accurate robot localization.

ยท Contribute to continuous improvement by profiling, benchmarking, and refactoring code for improved system performance.

ยท Design and implement unit, integration, and system-level tests to ensure software reliability and performance.

ยท Analyze and solve navigation, localization, and fleet related issues to increase productivity by troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving software defects across various development and production environments.

ยท Work with a cross-functional team of engineers to solve complex, real-world robotic problems.

Requirements:

What YOU Need to Succeed:


ยท A bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, robotics, computer science, or a related field.

ยท Strong software engineering background with a knowledge of modern software engineering best practices.

ยท 3+ years of software development experience using modern C++ (C++11, C++14, C++17).

ยท Experience with lidar, IMU, camera, and other sensor technologies.

ยท Ability to work independently and with engineering and production groups.

ยท Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn.

ยท Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

ยท Experience using Linux as a development environment.

DESIRABLE:

ยท Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System).

ยท Experience developing software using Python or Go.
