Who You Are
As our Robotics Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader supporting integrators and end users throughout the FANUC America Midwest region. Although the role covers a multi-state territory-including Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, Nebraska, Minnesota, North and South Dakota, and Colorado-the primary focus is the Twin Cities area.
You will support the sales, applications, and execution departments of the FAC Midwest Regional Office through product demonstrations, training directives, and other technology-focused activities consistent with the objectives and strategies of the FAC Midwest Regional Office and the General Industrial Division (GID).
How It's Done
  • Direct and support the application of intelligent robots by the Midwest Office executing group, regional ASI network, and regional end users
  • Build and strengthen relationships with regional ASI network and regional end users to improve robot sales through training, technology transfer, and application assistance
  • Provide generalized and customized training to all regional executing groups (FAC, ASI, end users) both in-house and on-site
  • Assist internal and external customers by providing product and system expertise, in areas such as robot hardware and software, machine vision, and system safety
  • Provide direction for the resolution of technical product issues
  • Accompany district managers on sales calls needing a high level of technical support
  • Assist district managers on following up with targeted sales leads
  • Manage internal resources to maintain demo cells at the Midwest Office as well as to complete custom demonstrations to support robot unit and system sales
  • Use SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and FANUC simulation software to assist internal and external customers in the application of robotic automation solutions
  • Support for (mostly) local trade show displays, both MDW and others
  • Travel to our customers and integrators to offer solutions with product applications with flexibility to travel 1-6 days, overnight per month or as business requires

What You Need
  • Bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 5+ years experience in the engineering and integration of industrial robotics automation systems
  • FANUC robot programming and industrial automation experience
  • Experience with FANUC ROBOGUIDE software suite (e.g., HandlingPRO, PalletPRO, OlpcPRO)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and 2D industry-standard drawing practices
  • Experience with SolidWorks and 3D modeling standards
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to drive throughout a regional area for business

What Would Be Even Better
  • Familiarity with FANUC robot machine vision systems, specifically iRVision and its application in robotic processes
  • Background in arc welding, spot welding, CNC machining, or paint processes
