Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Paint Robotics Engineer in Georgetown, Kentucky. In this role, you will create offline robot programs for download into a robotic production process and coordinate closely with the Regional Paint Engineer to study, trial, and evaluate processes based on safety, quality, productivity, and cost.

This position includes travel to manufacturing facilities across the US, Mexico, and Canada to support active projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offline Programming: Create and validate offline robot programs for seamless integration into a robotic production environment.
  • Process Simulation: Support the Paint Digital Engineering group in developing reach studies and cycle time analyses for:
    • Sealer, UBC (Underbody Coating), and dampening coat robot processes OR
    • Primer, base, clear, and interior robot processes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead project meetings with related internal teams, manage technical document creation, and provide direct hands-on support to assembly plants during process implementation.
  • Project Travel: Travel to production plants across North America (US, Mexico, Canada) to support line trials and project rollouts.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: 2-year technical degree or equivalent professional work experience in automation, robotics, or engineering.
  • Technical Experience: Previous hands-on experience with automated robotic paint shop applications (or closely similar automotive automation processes) is highly required.
  • Software Skills: Proven experience with Digital Engineering software and offline programming (OLP) simulation tools.
  • Certifications: Additional related technical or robotics certifications are highly preferred.
