Job description

Systems Analyst (Technical) – Drug Cost Estimator & Provider Search

Location: Minnepolis, Minnesota (Hybrid – 4 Days Onsite/Week)

Overview

We are seeking a technically strong Systems Analyst to support our Drug Cost Estimator (DCE) and Provider Search (PS) platforms. This role will partner with Product, Business, Engineering, and QA teams to translate complex business requirements into detailed technical specifications, system workflows, and integration solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate business and regulatory requirements into detailed system requirements, technical user stories, and functional specifications.
  • Analyze end-to-end system behavior, including front-end applications, APIs, backend services, and downstream systems.
  • Define and document complex business logic related to drug pricing, benefit eligibility, provider search, filtering, ranking, and network participation.
  • Create and maintain technical artifacts such as data flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, data mappings, and integration documentation.
  • Define API interactions, service orchestration, data transformations, and system dependencies.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, Engineering, and QA teams throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Support Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, feature refinement, testing, and UAT.
  • Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend system, data quality, and performance improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Technical Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong experience with APIs, system integrations, distributed systems, and service-oriented architectures.
  • Expertise in data analysis, data modeling, data mapping, and system documentation.
  • Experience writing detailed technical requirements, user stories, and system specifications.
  • Strong understanding of complex rule-based systems and data-driven applications.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum or SAFe environments.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Healthcare, Pharmacy, Health Insurance, or Provider Data environments.
  • Knowledge of drug pricing, formularies, benefit plans, eligibility systems, and provider search platforms.
  • Familiarity with provider directories, network management, search/indexing services, and pricing engines.
  • Exposure to AI/ML, recommendation systems, or personalization platforms is a plus.
