Job description

The Position The City of Beaverton's Information Technology Services Department is hiring a Business Systems Analyst to support our Public Works teams. In this role, you'll help staff improve their daily work by ensuring their tools and processes are dependable and easy to use. You'll partner with Public Works employees to understand their needs and identify practical improvements.

As you help implement those processes, you'll support staff as they learn new technology and adapt to updated workflows. A major part of this job is helping the department move its Enterprise Asset Management System from Trimble City Works to Trimble Unity and ensuring a smooth and well-supported transition. Future projects will support additional city departments and projects.

A strong candidate will offer: Clear, effective communication - they will be able to understand stakeholder needs and relay complex technical information to all audiences. The ability to analyze a current process, identify potential solutions, and guide changes. Knowledge of practices and principles of database structures and design, business process analysis, business applications.

The ability to navigate organizational change and adapt confidently to shifting requirements and diverse working environments. Ability to collaborate with a team, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. This is a full-time, exempt, Management 2 (M2) position.

There is one vacancy. This position requires in-person work. A hybrid schedule (up to 3 days/week remote) may be available after the successful completion of probation.

Responsibilities Conduct assessments of business workflows and supporting systems, identify operational gaps, and recommend system and process optimizations to improve enterprise asset performance. Support IT project work by collaborating with the project management team and application teams to improve city systems.

Help plan, test, and update applications, and identify opportunities to make them work better. Review how processes and tools are performing and suggest changes when improvements are needed. Coordinate and assist business units with implementing staff training required to utilize recommended business process improvements.

Provide hands-on support to help users adapt to system and process changes, ensuring improved usability. Lead small to medium-sized system and service implementation projects and participate as part of a team on larger projects. Develop project plans, set timelines, organize meetings, assign tasks, monitor progress, and communicate updates to all partners.

Act as the technical expert for assigned enterprise applications, providing guidance on best practices for system use and optimization. Work with colleagues in assigned business areas to identify needed enhancements to applications and services. Provide support for the maintenance and improvement of assigned systems.

Review proposed business process or system changes to confirm they meet city policies and comply with all required third-party governance standards, including Payment Card Industry standards (PCI) and Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS). Facilitate and execute a positive and supportive work environment with a culture of inclusion, teamwork, and communication. Contribute to promoting organizational values, including engagement and belonging; support a culture of accountability within the organization through personal and professional development; and actively promote the value of respect in a multicultural society.

Additional duties are outlined in the Business Analyst class specification. Qualifications Minimum qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, computer technology, or a related field, and 3 years of experience in business system analysis and project management; or An equivalent combination of education and experience enabling the incumbent to perform the essential functions of the position. Licensing and special requirements Ability to pass reference checks and education verification, and satisfy the requirements of a background check, including Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) fingerprints.

Within 30 days of hire, the successful candidate will be required to receive CJIS certification. Ability to satisfy the requirements of a pre-employment drug screen for controlled substances, including marijuana. Compensation Wage range: $6,591.92 - $8,833.84 monthly Starting pay within the posted range is based on a review of your related work experience, as required by the Oregon Equal Pay Act
