Job description

CCM is the market leader in single-ply commercial roofing-protecting the buildings where people work, learn, heal, and live. As a Sr. Mechanical Engineer, you will apply your engineering experience to the design, build and operation of the Research & Development Pilot Plant. You will also play a leading role in the innovation efforts focused on new product development, evaluating advanced manufacturing technology and breaking the mold as it relates to current process technology.
This role will report to the R&D Maintenance Manager and work collaboratively with Carlisle's various groups (e.g. ISO, Membrane, adhesives, waterproofing, etc.) to solve technical challenges, explore new material technologies and lead projects in R&D's new, state of the art Pilot Plant, gaining hands-on exposure to the production technologies that deliver commercial roofing systems worldwide.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Follow all safety procedures and participate in the company's safety culture, starting with Carlisle's core value: Start with Safety
  • Lead the design, install and start-up of the R&IC Pilot Plant & R&IC expansion utilities and HVAC systems.
  • Recommend, specify, and procure facilities and manufacturing process equipment that match project application requirements and business needs.
  • Provide mechanical engineering expertise to the R&D teams' innovation and product development initiatives.
  • Project management experience that includes scope development, funding requests, budget tracking, schedule tracking, project execution, and general project documentation.
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities of contractors and plant maintenance personnel during project execution.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with pilot lines and prototyping equipment.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to pilot plant maintenance personnel, and management personnel to ensure all project goals are successfully attained.
  • Work collaboratively with several internal and external customers, including Central Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, Contractors, Etc.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records, and equipment documentation in accordance with company standards
  • Participate in internal training programs, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on membranes manufacturing

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial/manufacturing environments
