From troubleshooting a rooftop unit in the middle of January, to installing cutting-edge systems in new construction, our work keeps businesses running strong.
Backed by the national strength of Service Logic, we combine the resources of a large organization with the feel of a local, hands-on team.
If you thrive on problem-solving, take pride in quality workmanship, and want to make a real impact, you might be a great fit here at Yale!
About the Role
As a Mechanical Engineer (or Project Engineer), you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the mechanical systems and infrastructure for various projects. You will work closely with project managers, architects, and other engineers to ensure mechanical systems are designed and built. Your expertise will guide the success of the project, from initial concept through to final installation and operation. The role demands technical expertise and a deep understanding of codes and regulations.
Requirements

  • Develop detailed mechanical drawings, specifications, and reports in compliance with local building codes and industry standards.
  • Provide recommendations for system improvements based on performance data and design review.

Project Management & Coordination:
  • Collaborate with construction teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems into overall project plans.
  • Design the mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications, budget.
  • Review and approve mechanical shop drawings and change orders during construction.

Quality Control:
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations (local, state, and national) related to mechanical systems and installations.
  • Lead the review of the design.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support staff, offering technical guidance and professional development.
  • Lead design reviews and provide technical direction for projects and troubleshooting.

Interactions:
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for company on mechanical engineering-related matters.
  • Provide technical support during pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases as required.
  • Prepare and present technical information to clients and PMs.

Qualifications
Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (or related field) from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a strong background in the construction industry or related sectors.
  • Proven experience in designing and managing mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) in commercial, industrial, or residential projects.
  • Hands-on experience with software tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Excel) for mechanical system design and analysis.

Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems design, installation, and commissioning processes.
  • Proficiency in understanding and applying building codes, local regulations, and industry standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
