  • Design mechanical building systems, including HVAC, gas, plumbing, fire suppression, and air conveyance.
  • Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive and integrated project delivery.
  • Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and assist with field inspections to verify compliance with design standards and codes.
  • Incorporate energy-efficient solutions into mechanical system planning and participate in permit application processes as needed.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a closely related discipline) from an accredited institution.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification and/or Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.
  • 07 years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally in water or wastewater infrastructure.
  • Foundational understanding or a strong interest in learning mechanical systems design (e.g., pumps, piping, HVAC, process systems).
  • Familiarity with applicable standards and codes such as IMC, IBC, IECC, ASHRAE, ASME, SMACNA, AWWA, and NFPA.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit) and mechanical analysis software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Initiative and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites and support work beyond standard office hours when necessary.
