Job description

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Austin, TX

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) and at least 6 years of mechanical design and product development experience. The role involves supporting the transition of medical device products from design into production, developing gauges and fixtures, performing product inspections, and ensuring designs meet manufacturing and quality requirements. The engineer will work on capital equipment systems, RF surgical consoles, and single-use handpieces used in medical device applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transfer completed product designs into the manufacturing and production phase.
  • Design and develop gauges, fixtures, and tooling to support manufacturing and inspection processes.
  • Create and review mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications using SolidWorks.
  • Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles to product and manufacturing drawings.
  • Support product inspection activities and resolve design-related manufacturing issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, and R&D.
  • Ensure products meet performance, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide engineering support throughout product lifecycle activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
  • 6+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
  • Strong experience with SolidWorks for 3D modeling and drawing creation.
  • Hands-on experience with gauge and fixture design.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation.
  • Experience transferring products from design to production.
  • Experience with product inspection and manufacturing support.
